When Your Affirmations Don’t Work

It’s a common mistake.

You want to manifest a desire, you look for affirmations from reputable manifestation websites or even from Instagram and Pinterest, you finally find some that you think might work, and you say them out loud.

Here’s the thing:

You feel like you’re lying to yourself.

The affirmations you just said don’t match what you feel inside.

You feel like a liar.

You might even end up thinking affirmations don’t work for you, and it frustrates you.

This is because simply saying another person’s affirmations will not work.

You need to create your own, make it your own.

This way, the words will resonate with you. When you say them out loud, you can feel the emotions.

You won’t feel like you’re just lying to yourself.

How do you accomplish this?

You make your affirmations softer and more believable.

Here’s what I mean:

Instead of saying, “I am abundant,” you can say, “I allow myself to feel abundant.”

Instead of saying, “I am a money magnet,” you can say, “I allow money-making opportunities to come to me.”

Instead of saying, “I am worthy of my desires,” you can say, “I allow myself to recognize my worthiness.”

By telling yourself that you are allowing these feelings and experiences to come to you, you are slowly but surely opening up yourself.

The Universe will bring you objects, people and experiences to support your new thoughts.

Play around with this and find what works best for you.

Instead of “allow,” you can also say:

  • Decide to (for example, “I decide to stop whatever I’m doing once an hour and take a few deep breaths to ground myself,” instead of “I am mindful.”)
  • Choose to (for example, “I choose to find things to be grateful for,” instead of “I am grateful.”)
  • Give myself permission to (for example, “I give myself permission to be successful,” instead of “I am successful.”)
  • Let myself (for example, “I let myself see the good in people,” instead of “I am a positive person.”)
  • Acknowledge that (for example, “I acknowledge that the Universe is friendly and is always there to guide me to be happy,” instead of “The Universe is friendly and wants to see me happy.”)

Just feel how good your affirmations make you feel.

Feel your vibrations rising.

You are no long dreading your affirmations. You can actually say your affirmations multiple times a day and genuinely feel the emotions every single time.

The better you are at feeling the emotions of your affirmations, the faster your manifestations appear in your reality.

Of course, bad days happen and it simply isn’t humanely possible to have high vibrations all the time. Please have compassion for yourself. Shift to gratitude when you need a boost of self-compassion. Don’t be hard on yourself.

I will write about this in more detail soon. As long as you are grateful, you are on track.
